LAPFORD Horticultural Society’s Spring Show was excellent with some new exhibitors. The judges, Bert and Margaret Jewell, Angela Searle and Paul Cleave were very impressed.
Following in her mothers footsteps, Mary Henderson, now retired, won the Joan Henderson Memorial Cup for most points in the show with 41 points. Runner-up was Joyce Mann with 28 points and Eileen Ridd was third with 21 points.
The organisers were pleased to see that there were some new exhibitors as well and hope they will continue to exhibit.
Jeanne Whittaker was the secretary and Paul and Eileen Ridd organised the refreshments. Noel Parry and Richard Hassett ran the draw.

Floral Art: Pot et Fleurs, Joyce Mann; Easter decoration Ann Stentiford; Corsage of artificial flowers Hilary Hassett; arrangement in a tea cup/saucer Ann Stentiford.
Flowers included: trumpet daffodils Eileen Ridd; large cupped daffodils Mary Henderson (first and second); Small cupped Sue Briant-Evans; Any other Daffodil E Ridd; Specimen daffodil E Ridd; Polyanthus Sue Briant-Evans.
A great show, everyone is now looking forward to the Rose and Sweet Pea Show in July.
