MEMBERS and friends of Crediton Garden Club will be meeting at Crediton Library on March 22, beginning at 7pm.

Members will hold a brief AGM and this will be followed by a talk at about 7.15pm with guest speaker, Diane Long from Devon Gardens Trust.

She will be presenting an illustrated talk on the work of the charitable trust in Devon.

One of the aims is to promote, enhance, recreate and educate about the arts and sciences of Devon gardens.

Members will be especially interested to learn how the Trust supports the next generation of horticultural students and young gardeners at school.

Readers might remember that Todd Gray, author of more than 40 books, including “The Art of the Devon Garden”, which celebrates the work of the gardens trust and local gardens of note, gave us an excellent talk several years ago.

Membership subscription will now be collected in September, but the cost for guests is held at £2.50 per meeting.

There will be refreshments and a raffle.

DIARY DATE: By kind permission of Crediton Librarian, Sue Lee, we will be holding our annual plant sale on May 7 at Crediton Library.

This is our major fundraising event and enables us to pay for our excellent range of speakers.

Please remember us if you have any labelled surplus seedlings or you split your garden plants.

We also take donations of cakes and produce. Further details next month.
