TO celebrate the anniversary of Redvers Ramble, the walk around Crediton, and its associated leaflet, there will be a small procession travelling the High Street on Saturday, July 21 at 11am.

This year, the Crediton Town Crier will lead the parade with a VIP guest, the Lord Lieutenant of Devon, Mr David Fursdon.

Members of the parade will be handing out the “Redvers Ramble and Other Walks” leaflet, aiming to encourage residents and visitors to explore Crediton’s variety of footpaths.

The event is being organised by Crediton Town Council.

The Redvers Ramble route was launched in July 2016 and has been a huge success.

Due to this success, the council’s Parish Paths Committee created a leaflet which includes five walking routes in and around Crediton, one being the infamous Redvers Ramble.

The Redvers Ramble leaflet was launched in July 2017.

Those who wish to take part on July 21 are invited to meet at the Town Square at 11am or look out for the procession on the High Street.

Anyone is welcome to join the procession and it is suggested that those attending take along someone who is not a regular walker - it is never too late to get started!

A council spokesperson said: “Help us spread the word and help everyone ‘take a step towards a healthier lifestyle!’.”

Walk leaflets are available from the Crediton Council Offices, Crediton Library, “Crediton Courier” office, at various shops and offices in the town and also online at: www.crediton.gov.uk .
