SEVENTEEN girls from Fourth Crediton Brownies, along with Leaders, visited London for a recent weekend.

They left Exeter very early on the Saturday morning travelling by train to Paddington and tubing across the city to reach ICANDO the Girlguiding Headquarters to take part in “How it Works” science day with other groups of Brownies.

They made felt and lava lamps as part of the day’s event gaining the Science Investigator Badge. In the evening they visited Frankie and Benny’s for tea and had a tour of the London attractions.

After a good nights sleep at ICANDO the following day they completed some more sightseeing. They had been granted special permission to visit No 10 Downing Street for photograhs.

Georgina Voysey made her promise as a newly qualified Leader outside No 10 – even Larry the Downing Street cat wanted to get involved.

The next surprise was a boat ride down the River Thames. They then took the Emirates Air Line Cable Car across the city. They stopped for lunch in Kensington Gardens before the short walk back to Paddington for a well-deserved McFlurry whilst waiting to catch the train home.

Thanks to the London savvy Leaders Charley Finch (Snowy Owl), Natalia Turner (Elf Owl), Kimberley Voysey (Screech Owl) and Georgina Voysey (Little Owl) who managed to keep Caroline Isaac (Brown Owl) and the Brownies going in the right direction!
