A LOCAL man who obtained £350,000 fraudulently, by posing as a Help For Heroes collector, could be stripped of his assets after prosecutors launched a case under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Christopher Copeland, who was jailed for four and a half years last September, could be forced to sell his Copplestone home, which is believed to be in negative equity.

The amount Copeland may be able to pay back is to be independently assessed before the next hearing this month.
