LOCAL artist Celia Olsson is looking forward to once again welcoming visitors to her studio in Bondleigh for Devon Open Studios (September 10 to 25).

Within the 366 artists participating Devon-wide she is part of the North Tawton, Bondleigh, Bow Art Trail featuring a wide variety of local artists.

Ever since she started painting 25 years ago Celia has always enjoyed experimenting and this past year has been no different.

She says: “I have been having great fun experimenting with new printing and collage methods, and am pleased with the results.

“I’m really looking forward to showing these to my visitors.”

Visitors will also be able to see her recent watercolour and mixed media paintings, many still inspired by the new views she discovered during lockdowns.

She has some of her works reproduced on mugs, tins, cards, notebooks and other small items.

During open studios Celia will be offering some of her older works at a 50 per cent discount.

“The materials for my new methods and the works produced are now vying for space in my small studio.  Look for the orange tag,” she says.

From sale of these works she will be making a donation to her favourite charity the Cinnamon Trust, which helps elderly and terminally ill people look after their pets.

“I can’t bear to think of someone losing their beloved pet because they are too old or too ill to care for them.”
