THE porch of Lapford Congregational Church was converted into a live Nativity scene for the benefit of passers by, especially children from Lapford Primary School.

David Bulley, Pastor, Lapford Congregational Church, said William Wensley (just four months-old) “was an amazing Jesus, echoing the line from the carol ‘Away in a manger’, ‘no crying he makes’.

“When awake he smiled at everyone with mum Kirsty, playing Mary, looking on as proud as punch. “Accompanied by Joseph (Noel Parry) and surrounded by shepherds and sheep the whole event was a great success.”

He added: “Everyone who came was treated to hot chocolate and Christmas goodies and every child was given a children’s Bible to take home as a reminder that Jesus is the reason for the season of Christmas.”
