IN REPLY to Mr Mackenzie Moulton who is complaining about night-time noise coming from the Milk Link factory off Church Lane, Crediton, I know very little noise comes from the factory site - and hardly any at night.

He says noise from the factory is keeping him awake but he is wrong - it is not all down to the factory.

In the summer I sleep with the windows open and hear hardly any noise from the factory.

I live closer to the factory site than he does and there is so little noise, I cannot understand what he is complaining about.

In the 10 years I have lived here the small amount of noise has been greatly reduced, despite the factory growth.

I hear that there is now someone at the factory to assist lorries to reverse at night to eliminate any of the "beeping" reversing warnings, as has happened in the past.

The factory employs many local people and if Mr Moulton keeps complaining it will move away from the area with many job losses.

I cannot understand how, when people move to an area, even if it is just seven or eight years ago, that they like to complain about something in the area into which they move.

We have seen this happen with church bells and the clock chimes recently.

I wonder, would Mr Moulton declare he has a problem with noise if he were to put his property on the market?

I must add I have no ties with Milk Link.
