CREDITON Library held a Fun Palace of free arts, music, literature and sports activities on the afternoon of Friday, September 30 and the morning of Saturday, October 1.

Rain dampened the attendance on Friday, but the sun was out and the library buzzing on Saturday. There was also a first for the library community garden – the combat sport of fencing!

Fencing was one of the activities on offer during the Fun Palace at Crediton Library. (Submitted)

Crediton Library supervisor, Sue Lee said: “Everyone of all ages had a lot of fun trying out new activities.

“Many thanks to all our volunteers from the local community for giving up their time and sharing their skills: Redvers Ramble guide Heather, James and Chris from the Crediton Town Band, Paul from the Elephant on the Green with his carpet bowls, Graham and Joe from the Crediton branch of the Heart of Devon Swords and Arty Jane.”

Fun Palaces’ is an annual, free, UK and worldwide celebration of community, driven by localism, innovation and engagement.

Fun Palaces’ annual weekend of action sees Makers across the country create their own version of a Fun Palace - local people sharing skills, connecting through their own version of culture, locally-led and community-focused.
