FOR one night only, all the pupils of Yeoford Community Primary School combined to create a delightful glitzy production taking a brilliant swipe at Strictly with Lights, Camel, Action.
Everyone who was around the stable in Bethlehem told their stories and had performed their dances with the wonderful judges’ comments.
It began with the St Joseph’s Bethlehem Broadcasting Company putting on a special show, swapping the comfort of their studio for the lowly stable in the middle of Bethlehem.
They were reminding us of the miraculous event when Jesus was born in that stable, with the judges being the donkey who carried Mary to Bethlehem, the wife of the innkeeper whose stable they stayed in and “more census than sense, the Roman everyone loves to hate” Caesar. Big “boo” prompt cards were waved at the audience every time Caesar spoke.
And so began the telling of the story that would make history, that people would be talking about for thousands of years.
It was fun, it told the Nativity story, everyone enjoyed themselves and it certainly was glitzy. A lovely story.
The show was presented in Yeoford Community Hall with all proceeds being for Yeoford PTA whose members served mince pies, mulled wine and coffee before the show.
