MID Devon District Council seems to have a grudge towards Crediton and our Lib Dem representatives seem unable to do anything about it.
The council has permitted a steep field full of wildlife to be built on in a totally inappropriate area of the town.
It will most likely approve the building of yet more houses on Higher Road with no regard for the town’s infrastructure and traffic and pollution problems.
Is it all to do with the greed for more council tax which all these new houses will provide them with?
Having pretty well ruined our lovely town I at least hope the councillors have the decency and insight to grant the relevant planning permission to Homeleigh Garden Centre for a brilliant sounding enhancement to the area.
I can’t quite understand why Mrs C Dean ("Courier" letters, June 22) opposes it when she lives in Okehampton.
Perhaps she is so concerned about possible extra traffic because she takes her children to QE in Crediton instead of using her local school but I’m sure visitors to the Garden Centre would avoid travelling during the school run!
