A NEW Lego Club was launched at Crediton Library this week, and children who went along said it was fantastic!
The Lego Club will meet at the library every Monday from 4pm to 5pm and children are invited to attend the free activity, there is no need to book.
The club was launched by Library staff after a financial donation by the Friends of Crediton Library enabled the purchase of thousands of pieces of Lego.
In addition the Library was able to purchase Duplo building blocks, which are more suitable for younger children to use.
Beatrice Coveney, librarian-in-charge, said: “I would really like to thank the Friends for the donation.
“The Friends are a great support and this is making such a difference in helping us to reach the ever-changing needs of the community.
“Children can now enjoy some creativity in making models and things using Lego after their long day at school.”
At the first session this week, the theme was Hallowe’en and among the items the children made were haunted houses, pumpkins, an underwater car, a scary scene and others.
Philippa from Crediton Area Children’s Centre helped supervise the new Lego Club along with librarian Mark Norman.
On Monday, November 28, from 7.30pm, The Friends of Crediton Library will host a visual presentation by Robin Ravilious entitled “A record of Country Life” featuring the photographs of James Ravilious.
Tickets are priced at £5 and will include refreshments. Book in person at Crediton Library or telephone 01363 772578.
