THE annual fundraising Festival on the Field, held at Landscore Primary School in Crediton, was opened by the Landscore Singers, who sang to an appreciative audience.
Organised by the PTA (Parent Teacher Association), the evening was well attended and raised more than £1,500 for the PTA campaign to replace the iPads, which were stolen from the school last year.
There were a number of stalls selling a range of items including sweets, cakes and jewellery. Children enjoyed a number of activities including a bouncy castle, football skills, splat the rat, sumo wrestling, bag decorating and local firefighters took along a fire engine.
The PTA ran a bar and barbecue throughout the event.
Landscore PTA treasurer, Jo Overton-Pitts, said: "With the fundraising money expected from the PTA members running the "Inflatable 5K" at Westpoint on Sunday the amount raised this academic year is expected to total £5,000, which is an epic achievement and we have been able to provide the school with £3,000 of that money, which has already been used to replace some of the iPads.
"We had, as always, a bar, a barbecue and a prize draw made up of donations from parents and generous local businesses.
"We’re incredibly grateful to local shops, services and attractions who donate the draw prizes every year and the draw itself continues to be hugely successful as a result."
