CHILDREN in Year 3 and 4 at Crediton’s Landscore Primary School have been thanked by their teachers for their support for Crediton Foodbank.

The children collected Christmas treats for the Foodbank during a recent week.

The children were so inspired from their Foodbank collection for the harvest festival, that they decided they wanted to do something for the Foodbank just before Christmas.

They chose to collect and take food into the school that they considered to be "treats", as they wanted to make sure everyone had some special food at Christmas.

The children took in chocolates, mince pies, crisps, Christmas crackers, biscuits, rice pudding and lots more tasty treats to donate to the Foodbank.

School spokesperson Jenny Maddison said: "All the children have been incredibly generous, and a huge amount of Christmas treats were brought in.

"I know the Foodbank was so very grateful for all the kind donations and all the teachers are very proud of the children for their efforts!

"Thank you to everyone who donated."
