The Carnival will take place on Saturday, July 18 and run from 5pm to midnight.

At a Sashing Event held at the village hall, it was announced that for the very first time in the history of the carnival, there would be a King and a Queen this year.

John Tonkin (9), was crowned King by his older sister Belle, who was the last Carnival Queen two years ago.

Belle also crowned Bee Sandover (11) as Queen.

John and his family sold £1,780 worth of Carnival raffle tickets and Bee and her family sold £1,030 of tickets to qualify for the positions.

Attendants will be Bethan Mackie, Jaspa Smith, Erin Nicol and Bertie Nicol.

All of the children and their families were thanked for raising funds towards the running of the event.

The Royalty will take part in the carnival parade, riding in a horse drawn carriage.

The Carnival is always a colourful spectacle and the procession will begin at 7pm.

There will be many tableaux, classic cars and walking entries taking part.

Judging of these will take place at the village primary school prior to the procession.

The procession will finish at 8pm.
