THERE was a joint celebration at Leapfrogs Nursery on Saturday, July 24, as the nursery held both a summer party for the nursery and also a retirement celebration for Sandy Pearce, Nursery Manager, who will be retiring this month after 27 years at Leapfrogs. 

Rain had been forecast so the party was moved mainly indoors but with such a large building there was plenty of space and families were still able to use the outdoor space to play too. 

Children enjoyed a bouncy castle and had a special visit from “Buzz Lightyear” and “Chase” from “Paw Patrol.” 

The Crediton Baby Hub visited and provided Moo Music sessions throughout the day, children could paint pottery animals supplied by Paint Pots of Devon, and everyone got to enjoy a Leapfrogs cupcake from The Old Parlour Bakes, which had been specially designed for the occasion. 

“It was lovely to see past and present children, parents, staff and Trustees, who all helped to make the day special,” Sandy said.

"A big thank you to everyone for their gifts, cards and kind wishes for my retirement. 

“Thank you also to parents for helping to keep the event Covid-secure by wearing masks, using hand gel, social distancing and scanning/signing in on arrival.”
