CHILDREN from Hayward’s Primary School in Crediton, from Year Six, have been studying explorers who have helped shape our knowledge of the modern world and among them was Devon pioneer, Percy Harrison Fawcett.

Fawcett, a native of Torquay, allegedly inspired the character of Indiana Jones.

To end their studies about explorers and Fawcett, the children from the two classes staged a performance about his life.

The play took place at various locations outside around the school but sadly, the rain began and parents, guests and those taking part, got quite damp.
