AN illustrated talk by Dan Webb of Crediton was enjoyed by members of the Crediton branch of Central Devon Conservatives.

Dan spoke about his trip to historic World War One and Two sites in France.

He explained that he visited the Nora-Pas-De-Calais region of France earlier this year, visiting several World War One battle fields and cemeteries such as Lochnagar Crater, Wellington Quarry, Tyne Cot and Beamont-Hamel.

Dan also made a day trip to Ypres.

The second part of his trip was to the World War Two facilities used to build and launch the V-1 and V-2 long-range artillery weapons designed for strategic bombing during World War Two.

He also visited the Mimoyeques Fortress which housed the V-3 London Cannon.

Following the talk, a tasting of artisan coffee’s roasted on site was also enjoyed along with a bring-and-share supper.
