AFTER more than two years, the Family History Research service provided by Crediton Area History and Museum Society is now well established and the society wants to bring everyone up-to-date on what it can offer for family research.

Society member, David Nation, said: "As well as civil records (birth, death and marriage indexes) from 1837 on ’Find My Past’, there are now Devon’s parish records, up to 1915, as they have recently been added to ’Find My Past’ and are fully searchable.

"Cornwall and Somerset, as well as other counties further afield are having their parish records added.

"All of the England, Wales and Scotland’s Census up to 1901 and the England and Wales census for 1911 are available. Scotland for 1911 is available by arrangement.

"The newly released 1939 National Register is also now available (currently an extra fee is payable for this).

"Many of the country’s local newspapers can also be searched for names and topics, finding out what ancestors had been up to.

"If you don’t have a computer we can draw up your family records into a printable tree to show your family in an easy to understand format.

"We are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm and at other times by appointment with our volunteers.

"Charges: £2 per hour or a discount ticket of 10 hours for £15. Gift package available for Christmas and birthdays."
