CREDITON’S Memory Cafe has suffered from the restrictions imposed because of Covid but is glad to report that it is still here.

It has resumed its meetings on Tuesday afternoons at an earlier time, now running from 2pm to 4pm.

The venue is the Lady Mills Centre in Deep Lane.

It is open to anyone who has a memory problem, together with the person who cares for them.

Guests have a cup of tea and chat. They sing songs from the past and enjoy a quiz from their resident quiz master. They also have light-hearted competitions and games. Sometimes there are seated exercises or craft sessions.

The Memory Cafe enjoys speakers talking about their jobs in past times and would be pleased to hear from anyone who could volunteer to do this, especially if they have photographs or artefacts to share.

They would also be pleased to hear from anyone who feels they could help run the Cafe.

Memory cafes usually welcome people living with dementia accompanied by their carer, but Crediton Memory Cafe is willing to consider someone attending without a carer according to their circumstances.
