CREDITON Singers are encouraging others to sing in their fun choir and make new friends.
Diane Cummings, long time member and chair of the choir said: “There’s never been a better time to join the Crediton Singers.
“People need to destress, they want to get involved and help good causes and we know, from our own experiences, and through scientific research, that singing is very good for you.”
It’s also very good for the many local good causes the Crediton Singers has raised money for; Hospiscare, Exeter Leukaemia Fund, Devon Young Carers, Balloons and, this year, for the Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.
“If you can sing, make friends and help people in need then why not?
“True, it’s a little scary when you first join but everyone in the choir knows that feeling and all our singers are friendly and supportive.
“You don’t need to read music and Tim, our Musical Director, goes through everything many times - Your confidence grows within weeks...”
This term, the choir is preparing to sing at community events, the first at The Glade in Penstone on Saturday, September 24.
The first practice of the new season takes place at Crediton Methodist Church on Monday, September 12 at 7pm. All are welcome! For further information please email, [email protected], see our website, creditonsingers.org or telephone 07833 897324.
