THE two-day Harvest Festival held at St Swithun’s Church, Shobrooke, saw many generous visitors attend - raising more than £3,000 for the church roof appeal.
The weekend was organised by the Friends of Shobrooke Church and is its main annual money-raising event to maintain the church.
The theme this year was “Raising the Roof” and the church windows were decorated accordingly.
There were exhibitions and crafts, stalls selling produce, flowers, cakes, jams, bric-a-brac, plants and books, a silent auction, refreshments and a grand draw.
The festival opened with a short service at the Holy Well in Church Lane, which was beautifully decorated.
At 3pm on the Sunday there was a children’s service in the church, which ended with the traditional rose petal shower from the tower and Super Toys descending down a zip-wire from the tower.
A special Harvest Songs of Praise was also held on the Sunday evening and there was a collection for Refugees.
A donation box also accepted donations for Crediton Foodbank.
