I AM a member and regular user of Lord Meadow Leisure Centre and I can't tell you how happy I am to hear about the proposed expansion/improvements at the centre.

I feel for those who pay our monthly membership and commit to using the leisure centre on a daily basis, for them it can only be a good thing?

Personally, I attend a lot of fitness classes and it is sometimes extremely difficult due to the size of the studio to get a space in the class and also it gets very hot in the studio.

I am hoping with the improvements these conditions will ease.

It would be nice to be able to go to the gym before work, but currently the changing area is not suitable for getting ready into work clothes.

Hopefully the changing area will be improved with a nicer environment and a more private shower area?

From the press releases that I have seen, and the architectural drawings at the centre, I feel that some of the best news I have heard is that Crediton will now benefit from a duel purpose area which will include spinning classes.

This is something which I welcome and look forward to as it will be amazing that I will no longer have to travel to Tiverton to attend the classes.

I understand that some of the groups are feeling let down as the sports hall space will be reduced, but I also feel the extension will benefit a lot more people in the community positively rather than negatively.

Maybe some of the groups can re-locate to QE, which will also benefit the school?

I think this is brilliant news for Crediton and can only be a good thing for the whole community.

This news has been so welcome to me as a loyal, committed member and I can't wait for the work to be underway.

I really hope the negativity from people who don't use the facilities daily and don't realise the positive impact these changes will have, don't ruin it for the whole community!

Let the work commence...
