ALTHOUGH the Women’s World Day of Prayer service at Cheriton Fitzpaine had to be postponed due to the snow on March 2, we had an interesting Service a week later in the Methodist Church.
Our Brownies and Rainbows, led by Linda Tonkin, made a display for us depicting the animals and culture of Suriname (Northeast South America) and this was used to decorate the Church for the Service.
The Brownies were especially impressed by the smart uniforms worn by the girls in Suriname despite many of them coming from impoverished families.
The girls were also fascinated by the variety of wildlife, including tree-dwelling sloths.
