Organised by the committee of St Luke’s Chapel at Posbury, the event which starts at 2pm and unlike the commercial gin festivals will feature only Gins from Devon distillers.
It will be a celebration of the distinct gins produced by these artisan companies as well as an opportunity for visitors to relax in the gardens of Downes House. The price of the ticket entitles visitors who attend the Festival to a bespoke commemorative gin glass, a Posbury Signature Gin and Tonic and a sumptuous Afternoon Tea. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Trevor Woodison.
There will be an opportunity to talk to producers, who will be selling their products to take home to enjoy.
There will also be a chance to sample the products of a number of brands.
The Posbury Gin Bar will be featuring all the Devon Gin brands, served with garnish and appropriate mixer.
The Afternoon Tea will be prepared by local chef Samuel Brook and will consist of handcrafted sandwiches and pastries along with choux bun, bordeaux, petit gateau and macaroons along with, of course, scones with clotted cream and jam.
Samuel Brook has worked in several high-end hotels throughout Devon.
He spent more than four years working under Michael Caines and more recently was Head Chef at Paschoe House.
He is the Chef and owner of Pretty Little Pastries, which is providing the Afternoon Teas.
