MANY members and several guests thoroughly enjoyed the Lapford Over 60s Christmas lunch and party held at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum which started with a delicious three-course meal, followed by tea or coffee and mints and Christmas crackers.

Entertainment was given by Adrian Newson, who played a number of Shadows numbers on his guitar, to great applause.

Then it was time for the raffle, with lots of prizes for all.

Afterwards everyone had a mince pie and a cup of tea or coffee. Finally Chairman Ron Kercher thanked the staff and wished everyone a very Happy Christmas.

Happy Birthday was also sung to two people at the lunch - to 92 years-old Margaret Tucker and to Steven Hemsworth, who kept his age a secret!

He was presented with a delicious chocolate birthday cake, which was made by his mother Sue Hemsworth.
