MORE than 150 business people celebrated the achievements of both individuals and businesses at the Excellence in Business Training Awards 2016, hosted by Cornwall College Businesses.

Up against strong competition, Graphic Plc employee, Helen Tribel won the Individual Achievement category and Graphic Plc itself was runner up in the Training Programme of the Year category.

The awards recognise exceptional training and development in organisations across the South West; celebrating companies that develop their staff through training and have as a result seen exceptional business success.

Sue Hook, from Sapience HR, who was chief judge for the Individual Achievement category that Helen won said: “Helen has not only embraced her own training and development but has had significant impact on the training in the rest of the company.

“Helen has made a difference to the standard of training in a technical environment by updating and refining an outdated programme and using excellent IT skills to make the training more current and relevant.

“She has created a unique environment which has developed into a new learning culture in the company. The impact on the company has meant a reduction in training time, increase in productivity and cost savings from reduced errors.”
