A TOTAL of 16 people braved, what were rather dismal conditions initially, to do the walk from the town to Salmonhutch via Queen Elizabeth’s School Barnfield and back along the river to Fordton with the Crediton Walk and Talk group.

Conditions underfoot were rather muddy in places, given the earlier rain, but good walking and plenty of bantering was enjoyed by all, rounded off by coffee at one of their favourite haunts, Crediton Station Tea Rooms.

The group were pleased to welcome one new member and several who had not walked with the group for some time.

Crediton Walk and Talk group meet fortnightly at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre at 9.45am.

Walks start from the Leisure Centre or nearby and take around 90 minutes, covering about three miles.

Anyone is welcome and walks are free to join.

Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead.

The next walk will be on Friday, February 17.
