Primary School is good news for Crediton Learning Community

THERE is good news for the Crediton Learning Community, the grouping of 13 local schools, which cares for the wellbeing of children in the Crediton area.

Until recently two of the 13 schools were judged by school inspectors, Ofsted, to be "Satisfactory", but this has changed, with all now rating as "Good" or above.

The 26-pupil Spreyton Primary School has been given a "Good" rating, a step up from the previous rating of Satisfactory (January 2012), much to the delight of the children, staff and parents.

Lois Briard, head of school, said that the inspection was carried out under the new, more rigorous Ofsted framework and so makes the rise from the previous "Satisfactory" judgement to "Good" an even greater achievement.

She said: "Spreyton is a wonderful school. We are delighted that the report highlights not only our significant improvement since the last inspection but also our capacity to continue this progress in the future."
