AVID reader Molly Rice (9), from Cheriton Fitzpaine, has received a Gold Book Track Award at Crediton Library.

Molly was presented with a gold badge and certificate for reading 100 books, which she completed in one year and four months.

Her favourite books are short non-fiction and she also likes to read stories.

Books about the world are also a favourite for Molly as she likes to learn about new places and finds the Caribbean and South America very interesting to read about.

Alexander McCall-Smith is her favourite author and The Mystery of Meerkat Hill, a story about a girl named Precious who wants to be a detective when she grows up, is her favourite book.

Playing the guitar is something Molly enjoys in her spare time and has even written some of her own songs.

Molly is a pupil at Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School where her favourite subject is geography. She says she would quite like to be a teacher when she grows up.
