Returning bigger and better for 2013 with a fun-filled programme of over 35+ Musical acts, a Comedy Stage (Friday Night), "Taste of the West" Food Pavilion, Westcountry Ales and Cider, Craft Stalls, Vintage Aircraft Displays, Mountain Bike Stunt Teams, Archery, Falconry, Fire & Light Shows, a Planetarium, workshops and of course, Mass Ascents featuring a whole host of colourful Hot Air Balloons including Special Shapes!
The Tiverton Balloon Festival is a fantastic local event and over the last 2 years it has helped raise more than £15,000 for local charities, including the Devon Air Ambulance, Children's Hospice South West and the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).
New attractions for 2013 are a Food & Drink Pavilion organised by Taste of the West, a Craft Marquee and a second Music Stage. Also hear how Aviation Pioneer Brian Jones circumnavigated the world non-stop in a balloon in 19days! And see a flying display by the WW2 aircraft DH60 Gipsy Moth, the Tiger Moth and Beech Twin aircraft.
The main ring on Sunday 14th July will also see the UK's leading Freestyle Mountain Bike Stunt Team, Savage Skills, who will be in attendance and wowing the crowds with their unique mix of jaw dropping stunts and interactive mountain bike displays.
This year also sees aviation pioneer, Brian Jones, talking about his experiences of co-piloting the Breitling Orbiter 3 on the first ever circumnavigation of the earth by balloon. Purchase your ticket for this exciting talk online.
