HEADS were bowed as the Garden of Remembrance was dedicated at Crediton Parish Churchyard during the morning of Saturday, October 28, when a chilly wind was blowing.
The Rector of Crediton Preb Nigel Guthrie led the prayers after the Royal British Legion Standard and the Union Jack were dipped for a short period of reflection. The garden is there for anyone to plant a wooden cross with a poppy, available at many of the town shops.
There will be a two minute silence and short wreath laying ceremony at the town and Crediton Hamlets War Memorial on Union Road at 11am on Saturday, November 11 with the main ceremony in the parish church the next day followed by the parade to the war memorial and wreath laying.
