MID Devon District Council has announced a further reduction in opening hours at Phoenix House, Tiverton, as the council reminds customers to follow the “Stay Home” advice.
Opening hours at Phoenix House have been reduced this week as the council encourages customers to use alternative methods of contact.
From Wednesday, April 1, the council offices will be open as follows from 10am to 12 noon on Mondays and Thursdays only.
It will be closed at all other times.
Customers are being encouraged to use email or visit the council’s website where you can access many services, as well as read the latest advice and council changes regarding Coronavirus.
The council remains operational and can still be contacted via telephone on 01884 255255, but this should be used in emergencies only or for those who have no other means of access.
Jill May, Director of Corporate Affairs and Business Transformation, said: “The council remains operational and open for business but we must strike the right balance between maintaining limited access for those who need it, while protecting everyone in these challenging times.
“The majority of our services can be accessed online or via email and of course our telephone line remains available to those who need to contact us directly. We urge anyone, who can, to stay at home and access our services online rather than in person.”
Anyone visiting Phoenix House during the limited opening hours must respect the social distancing measures put in place and follow the clearly marked areas in reception, for their own safety and that of council staff.
