HOME to members of the Fursdon family since at least 1259, Fursdon near Cadbury will be the focus for members of the Devonshire Association’s Buildings Section on Wednesday, April 10.

They will have a guided tour of the house and to see around the four-acre gardens.

Fursdon is a Grade II listed early 17th century house where the core of an earlier building is evident in places.

Also on April 10, members of the Buildings Section will be visiting Tiverton Castle in the afternoon.  This is Grade I and a Scheduled Monument, built in 1106.

The same evening there is a talk about the South Devon caves and their ice-age history, organised by the Plymouth branch, at the Plymouth Athenaeum.

The DA is the only society concerned with every aspect of Devon and the only one of its kind in Britain.
