A WET Sunday morning didn’t dampen the spirits of those attending the fundraising cream tea in aid of ELF hosted by Bridget and Andre Pike from Copplestone.

The event, on Sunday, June 25, was held to thank ELF who had supported the family following Andre’s diagnosis of leukaemia in 2016, they are pleased to say that he is now in remission.

Andre had already raised £1,500 from a sponsored head shave and is glad to be able to add the £1,350 raised from the cream tea to that total, and donations are still coming in.

As well as cream teas, there was a raffle, a tombola and a guess the teddy’s birthday competition, won by J Bradford, guess how many sweets in the jar, won by C Radford, and a pick the clothes pegs from the line contest.

There was also an auction for a lovely chocolate cake and a few bottles that were donated.

Alexis Philp, grand daughter was in charge of the lovely cakes that people donated.

A marquee was available set out with tables and chairs, but many sat in the garden and enjoyed the warm afternoon, there was plenty of room for children to run about and play in the lovely garden.

The family would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended and helped in anyway (too many to mention) and were so generous in their donations.
