MORE than £600, 000 is available from the Town and Parishes Together (TAP) fund for community projects in Devon that will enhance and make a difference to those communities.

The fund is administered by Devon’s district, borough and city councils and each is allocated according to the number of people on their electoral roll.

Devon County council puts in £1 per elector and borough and district councils 10 pence per elector.

Leader of Devon County Council, Councillor John Hart said: "Through this fund we are encouraging local communities to identify projects that will make a real and positive difference to their local area.

"It is great to see the successful projects that have already taken place thanks to this initiative, and we hope others take advantage of the scheme."

The councils recently reviewed the criteria and want to encourage even more collaboration between communities, be they projects led by voluntary and community groups, or town and parish councils.

The deadline to apply in February 28 with the Funding Panel scheduled for March 23.
