THE Friends of Crediton Library (FoCL) presents the third event in its series on "The Senses" - on Monday, November 11, from 7pm at Crediton Library.
"From Dinosaurs to Dukes" is the title of an illustrated presentation by Devon-based sculptor Andrew Sinclair, who runs a studio at Bondleigh, near North Tawton, where he also holds workshops and courses.
Over a 25-year career, his public commissions for figurative portraits, often with a narrative element, include recent portrayals of the Duke of Wellington and pop icon David Bowie.
Admission is £4, with donations invited for refreshments. Advance booking is welcomed: please call in at Crediton Library, telephone 01363 772578 or email: [email protected] .
The last of the four events will be on December 9 and is a presentation “From Plainsong to Post-Modernism” by musician and scholar Philip Lancaster, explaining how music changed and developed over the last 500 years. Festive seasonal refreshments will be served alongside.
FoCL assists in broadening the reach of our local library and to encourage a wider range of users.
It also works to raise funds for special projects, currently the creation of a new community garden area at the rear of the library.
New members are welcome to join FoCL in developing new ideas and proposals, and helping to deliver events at the library and assisting with regular book sales.
