MID Devon District Council announced last month that to support local businesses and to enhance trade in the district’s market towns, 24-hour free parking would be available in some of its car parks on Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas.
Two Saturdays remain, Saturday, December 16 and Saturday, December 23.
The car parks are:
• High Street / St Saviour’s Way car park, Crediton
• Station Road car park, Cullompton
• Multi-Storey car park, Tiverton.
Normal parking charges apply at the above car parks on all other days of the year.
Councillor James Buczkowski, Cabinet Member for Finance said: “We're thrilled to be able to provide free parking on Saturdays in the lead up to this year's Christmas season.
"Embracing the holiday spirit will benefit both local residents and businesses as well as encouraging shoppers into the area.
“Our local businesses create a wonderful festive shopping experience and I'd encourage everyone to make the most of the additional free parking Saturdays and come and visit our local independents and sample what our towns have to offer."
