INDEPENDENT charity Devon Communities Together is hosting a FREE online community resilience event as part of its role as facilitator of the Devon Community Resilience Forum.

The event, on July 29 and 30, is designed for Councillors, Community Response Team members, flood wardens, and all community members interested in resilience.

Attendees will be able to sign up to a variety of different sessions and workshops, all designed to support communities to become more resilient, particularly in relation to the challenges of Covid-19 and the recovery from it.

Sessions include a community case study on the Covid-19 community response in Broadclyst, an Introduction to Property Level Resilience, Devon’s Local Outbreak Outbreak Management Plan, Flood Resilience, a session from The Environment Agency and many more.

This two-day virtual event comes as an alternative to Devon Community Resilience Forum’s usual twice-yearly face-to-face events, which have been paused due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Devon Communities Together Project Manager Louise MacAllister, commented: “We’ve witnessed over the past few months how community resilience groups and community emergency plans have really come into their own to enable people in Devon to support each other, look after vulnerable people in their communities and protect their assets.

“As we start to move into the recovery and local outbreak phase it’s important we keep sharing our experiences, increasing our knowledge and learning from each other.

“We’d encourage as many communities as possible to join us over the two days.”

All the sessions are bookable individually via Eventbrite. For full details please visit: www.devoncommunities.org.uk .

Joining instructions will be sent to everybody who has booked a space for each session beforehand.
