CLOSED over the weekend March 26 and 27, the public footpath from Keymelford near Yeoford to a field and out to Penstone is now a resurfaced delight.

What used to be muddy, lumpy when it dried out with an awkward access is now flat, firm and welcoming.   In fact, someone said “you’d better wipe your feet before you walk on it.”

It was thanks to Colebrooke Parish Council that the work was done.  Money had come from Network Rail for use of the car park at Penstone while the new railway bridge and other work was done and some of this paid for half of the cost with the rest coming from Devon County Council.

A very local contractor did the work.
