WHEN Sarah Crowcombe married Christopher Nicks at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, Chulmleigh, their honeymoon destination had been kept as a secret from the bride.

Christopher had organised the whole thing. Sarah had always wanted to stay in a castle so, before they flew to Turkey from Manchester Airport, Christopher had booked them into Peckforton Castle near Chester.

The bride is the only daughter of John and Sonia Crocombe of Parsonage Farm, Chulmleigh. Her bridegroom is the eldest son of David and Jill Nicks of Bow.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a full length gown in an ivory colour, decorated with crystals. Her bouquet, in shades of ivory, included roses, each with a central diamond stud.

She was attended by Toni Puddifoot as Matron of Honour whose son had been born three days before and went to the wedding. Bridesmaids were Rachel Nicks, Coral Ashton, Hannah Nicks, Madilyn and Gracie Crowcombe. They wore teal coloured dresses.

Best Men were Johnny and Ashley, brother and son of the bridegroom. Ushers were Andrew Crocombe, bride's brother and Kevin Palfrey. Theme for the wedding was "bow ties and fascinators" and they wore teal coloured bow ties and cummerbunds.

The wedding was followed by a marquee reception at Chulmleigh.
