A STUDENT from Queen Elizabeth's Community College, Crediton, is the first in the county to have completed her Duke of Edinburgh's Award using an online system.
Ailidh Durie (16), from Exeter, completed her Bronze award using eDofE, an on-line electronic version of the Record Book.
The certificate, signed by Devon D of E Award Officer, Sally Yeo, was presented by her Award Leader at QECC, John Wright.
As part of the work towards achieving her award, Ailidh helped at the after school book club at Landscore School, learned to play the piano, completed an expedition from Salcombe Regis to Exmouth and took up running to keep fit.
Ailidh told the Courier: "I really enjoyed it - it was good to complete the award but some of it was quite hard.
"I had a lot of support in filling out the forms online from Debbie Fuller at the Devon D of E office for which I was really grateful.
"I'm now going to go straight for my Gold D of E Award and miss out the Silver, which I know will take a bit longer but I'm really looking forward to it."
