ON Friday, June 23, after meeting at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, and a welcome to several new members, the Crediton Walk and Talk group made its way to meet again at Westernlea where the walk commenced with a steady climb through Cromwell's Cutting and down to Pitt Farm.

Soon a gate came into view which led to an easier walk across fields, although a section was heavily overgrown with nettles.

Passing over the Yeoford road, a short lane walk took us to another path across fields, giving us fine views to Posbury and beyond, then on to Denbury and Beare Farms and the Salmonhutch road with a return to Westernlea.

As the temperature had increased during the walk it was decided a coffee was in order at the local garden centre which was only a short drive.

Crediton Walk and Talk group meet fortnightly at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre at 9.45am.

Walks start from the Leisure Centre or nearby villages and take around 90 minutes, covering about three miles, but this does not include travelling times.

Anyone is welcome and walks are free to join. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead.

The next walk is on Friday July 7.
