A TALK entitled "Afternoon Tea - An English Tradition" will be given by Paul Cleave at Crediton Library on Friday, June 17, from 4pm to 5pm.
The talk about the story of tea will be a Crediton Food Festival event.
The festival will be held on June 18 and 19.
Paul will use visual artefacts to explain the story of tea in England and the traditions of afternoon tea.
He will also talk about tea in China, the introduction of tea to the British by Catherine of Braganza and the expense of tea.
Other topics included in the talk will be afternoon tea and the Duchess of Bedford, Devonshire tea and tourists, and afternoon tea in literature.
Visitors can enjoy scones, clotted cream, jam and tea - for which donations will be accepted.
