SAINT Luke’s Church, Posbury will be holding its Festival of Devon Gins once again at Downes House, Crediton, by kind permission of Henry and Susan Parker, on May 28.

Committee chairman, Fiona Mortimer, said: “We held the first Festival of Devon Gins back in 2019, and had hoped it would become an annual event.

“For obvious reasons we weren’t able to hold the event as we would have wanted to during the last two years, but we are really pleased to be able to hold it again this year.”

Local Chef, Sam Brook of Pretty Little Pastries will be once again serving a decadent afternoon tea, consisting of both savoury and sweet treats, described by one visitor after the 2019 event as an afternoon better than they had enjoyed at London’s Savoy!

Ticket holders will also receive a complimentary Plymouth Gin and Tonic, and will be able to enjoy live music provided by the Exeter School Jazz Quartet.

A bar will be serving a wide range of other Devon Gins, with maybe a guest gin or two from neighbouring counties, so there will be an opportunity to try a variety of gins.

In addition a number of local craftspeople have been invited to exhibit their items.

The event opens at 2pm, and admittance is by ticket only, which should be purchased in advance, either from Grape and Grain in Crediton High Street, via Eventbrite, or from the events page of the church website: www.posbury.org.uk .

Very limited tickets will be available on the day, so everyone is encouraged to buy their ticket in advance to avoid disappointment.

Fiona said: “This is our first major fundraising event since 2019, and we are grateful to Henry and Susan Parker for once again allowing us to use the grounds of Downes House to hold our event, it is the perfect setting for the festival.”
