LAPSTOCK celebrated its 10th anniversary in style as festival lovers rocked into the night last weekend at the annual two-day event held at the historic mill in Lapford.
Music at the Mill featured 22 bands and performers as well as a record number of locally-produced food outlets, trade stands and special events such as a children’s percussion yurt.
Featured bands for Lapstock 2016 included Echo Town, an acoustic folk/rock duo from Leeds who played Glastonbury this year; reggae/rock band Lionstar; White Station, a blues-influenced rock and roll band from Yeovil; and teenage band Ten Zero One who hail from Tavistock and first played Lapstock five years ago as 13 year-olds before going on to play the O2 Arena in London as finalists in the national “Live and Unsigned” competition.
Solo acts included the influential blues guitarist Jim Crawford and singer, song writer and multi-instrumentalist Adam Scriven.
The event, which included a free Friday night gig to showcase young local talent, supported Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
