DO you have a “little yellow book” in the summer? Do you enjoy visiting local private gardens?
Have you ever wondered about how the National Gardens Scheme came in to being and how this worthwhile charity operates?
If the answer is yes, then you will find the talk given by Miranda Allhusen to Crediton Garden club very useful.
We will be gathering at Crediton Library, Belle Parade on February 26 at 7.30pm. Monthly meetings usually last approximately one-and-a-half hours.
We have refreshments for sale and we have a raffle. We like to promote a warm welcome for all types of gardener.
Guests pay £2.50 per meeting or if you would like to join it costs £12 per annum.
Many of Crediton Garden Club members will be keen to hear what Keith Wiley (previously of the Garden House) has to say about “Planting for Shade”, when he gives a Hardy Plant Society talk at Longdown Village Hall on March 2, at 2.30pm, visitors £5.
Further details are available from Mike Wheeler on 01395 263513.
You will also find us with a table at the Sustainable Crediton Seed Share on March 16 at the Boniface Centre.
Our March 26 monthly meeting (details above) gives us a rare opportunity to listen to garden club member Anne Tucker, a Climate change scientist giving us some ideas on how to garden in a changing climate.
Our very generous librarian Sue Lee is once again allowing us to hold our annual fundraising Plant and Produce sale on May 4 at Crediton Library.
If you are one of our band of local supporters we will once again be welcoming surplus plants and home produce. Details in April.
