ST LAWRENCE Fair, at the chapel in Threshers, Crediton, will take place on Saturday, August 13 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Organised by the Friends of St Lawrence, stalls will include cakes, games, books and handicrafts and teas will be available.

There will also be a children’s painting competition, with a theme “Treasure”. Children are invited to enter pictures in paint, pencil or crayon at a size of A4 (200,m,x290mm) on the day. There are two age groups, up to seven years and seven-11 years, and rosettes and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the chapel and Médecins Sans Frontières, the charity that helps people worldwide by delivering emergency medical aid to those affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare.

The following day, Sunday, August 14, there will be a 6pm special “Friends” Evensong led by Rev Paul Fillery. He will be accompanied by Richard Stephens on the organ and the West Gallery Quire.

Everyone is invited to go along and the service will be followed by coffee and a chance to have a chat.
