A PARTY was held on February 15 at Copplestone Methodist Church Hall to celebrate the 100th birthday of Violet Mary Stevens, nee Boundy.

Her family, spanning five generations, and many of her close friends joined her, with one couple travelling from Mid Clyth in Scotland to be there.

Violet was born in 1920 in Burrington where she went to school.

She married George in 1938 and moved to Higher Furzeland Farm where they farmed for 47 years.

Violet now lives in Copplestone and has three daughters Gwen, Barbara and Pam and a son-in-law Alan.

She also has six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
