THE theme of the 2018 Crediton Parish Church Flower Festival is “In Our Element”.

Through the elements of earth, air, fire and water the Festival explores the planet with eye-catching floral arrangements such as “high as a kite”, “all that glistens”, “raindrops keep falling”, “blue planet” and many more.

The Floral Exhibition opens at 10.30am on Saturday, June 2, closes at 5pm on Thursday, June 7, and attracts thousands of visitors to view the floral displays, presented in an entertaining, colourful and creative exhibition designed with familiar blooms as well as more exotic species.

Admission to the Festival and parking is free and there is a bus stop by the church. There is disabled access and hot and cold refreshments will be available in the Boniface Centre, where Newton St Cyres Art Group members will exhibit and sell their work.

Accompanying the Festival will be a Concert “Elements of Music” on Saturday, June 2 at 7.30pm in aid of the Holy Cross Endowment Fund, admission £6.

The evening service on Sunday will be a “Songs of Praise” at 6pm and Crediton Town Band will give a rousing finale with a free concert at 7pm on Wednesday, June 6.

The Flower Festival is a major fundraising event for the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the fine 15th Century Grade 1 Listed building.

Crediton Parish Church is thought by some to be one of the finest parish churches in Devon. During the Festival there will be the opportunity to visit the bell tower and historic Governors ‘Room.

The Flower Festival has something for everyone and would not be possible without the variety of skills and time given freely by its team of volunteers.

All are encouraged to support the Flower Festival, and volunteers are invited to get involved in a variety of jobs such as stewarding, helping with refreshments, first aid etc.
